On 20 April 2023, Didier Queloz, Nobel Laureate in Physics 2019 and President of the Marcel Benoist Foundation, was awarded the Insignia of Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honour by H.E.M. Frédéric Journès, the French Ambassador to Switzerland.

For her doctoral thesis on Ultrastrong light-matter interaction at the nanoscale, Shima Rajabali, receives the Hans-?Eggenberger-Prize. The thesis was done at Quantum Optoelectronics lab of the Professors Jér?me Faist and Giacomo Scalari at the Department of Physics of ETH Zurich.

The prize is awarded once every two years to young scientists to promote originality and excellence in physics research. The 2020 "Raymond and Beverly Sackler International Prize in Physics" was awarded to researchers within the disciplines of Emergent Phenomena and Functionality in Metamaterials and Heterostructures.
